Shiroabhyanga is a gentle massage where the head, face, back area are treated with various warm herbal oils.

Shirodhara :In this warm herbal oil on a sesame oil base (Tel Dhara), concocted milk (dugdha dhara) or buttermilk (takra dhara) or decoction (Kashaya Dhara) depending on the indication is poured over the forehead.

Shiroabhyanga is a good preparatory treatment for shirodhara, the ayurveda forehead oil flow treatment. This massage is primarily carried out with the client sitting down. This is the best way to reach the head, back and decollete area. The head massage alternates between stimulating and calming massage techniques. The concluding facial massage is carried out with the client lying on his or her back. Hair, face and body oils are applied which have been chosen to suit the person’s needs. This massage may have a stimulating or relaxing effect. This depends on the constitution and the needs of each guest.

A Stream of medicated oil or concocted milk or butter milk (Takra) or herbal decoction is poured on the forehead for 30 to 45 minutes. It increases concentration and improves memory, helpful for both intellectual and students alike. It gives calm and nourishes brain cells thus helps in curing insommia (sleeplessness), hallucinatins, Sinusities, Migrane, Paralysis, Epilepsy, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Falling / Greying of hair, Alopecia, Dandruff
